UGC NET June 2026 Age Limit

• Age Limit: For JRF, the maximum age is 30 years as on 1 June 2026, with relaxation up to 5 years for reserved categories and women.
• For Assistant Professor and PhD Admission, there is no upper age limit, which makes this exam accessible to a wide range of candidates.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks, while reserved category candidates require 50% marks.
• Final-year postgraduate students can also apply, but they must complete their degree within the prescribed time after the result.

Candidates with a 4-year bachelor’s degree (75% marks) are also eligible for JRF and PhD admission under new rules.

Exam Pattern

The UGC NET exam consists of two papers conducted in a single session without any break.
