Jharkhand TET (JTET) 2026 Age Limit
Age Limit: The age limit for Jharkhand TET (JTET) 2026, the minimum age required to apply is 21 years. The maximum age limit will be determined according to the rules and regulations set by the Jharkhand Government. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will also be eligible for age relaxation as per government norms and category-wise reservation policies. Applicants are advised to carefully check the official notification before submitting the online application form.
Detailed Eligibility Criteria
For Primary Level (Class 1 to 5), candidates must have passed Senior Secondary (12th) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or equivalent. Candidates with 45% marks in 12th are also eligible as per NCTE norms. Apart from this, candidates with Graduation + D.El.Ed or those who have completed a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) can also apply. Candidates with 12th + Diploma in Special Education are also eligible.
For Upper Primary Level (Class 6 to 8), candidates must have a Graduation degree along with D.El.Ed or B.Ed. Candidates who have completed 4-year integrated courses like BA B.Ed / B.Sc B.Ed are also eligible. Additionally, candidates with B.Ed in Special Education or equivalent qualification can also apply.
Candidates must ensure that their qualifications are recognized by NCTE or relevant authorities.
Special Education Eligibility
Candidates with special education qualifications are also eligible under JTET 2026. Eligible qualifications include:
- Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed Special Education)
- Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation (DCBR)
- Multi Rehabilitation Worker (MRW) Diploma
- Diploma in Hearing Language & Speech (DHLS)
- Diploma in Vocational Rehabilitation
- Any other RCI approved qualification related to special education
Candidates must have a valid RCI registration number wherever applicable.
